What to expect…
Every hour on the hour from Monday- Friday between 9-3pm you can expect one of our wonderful contributing educators/artists to deliver a 30-45 minute session of awesomeness to your home! These sessions will be made up of music, art, Te Ao Maori, yoga, making, tinkering, stories, drama, games, crafting and good old nature play at its best!

Right now let’s get this day started….by the end of the week you will know this waiata and
karakia! One more day to learn then are you brave enough to post up a clip of yourself on
facebook singing this !

Challenge 1: 9am

Thoughtful Thursday’s first offerings are ones to get your mind and body connected and take a little time. Yoga with Prem is always a special treat to fill you up with goodness !

Challenge 2: 10am

Sink deep into the poetry tub with Nicky and whānau, as she offers amazing poetic prose that will tickle your toes….or nose….or maybe you’ll smell like a rose !

Challenge 3: 11am

Wow get ready to use your coordination skills with maestro Julies’ music marvels today ! Then joyful Ruth and Lucy teach us the iconic ‘Living on a motu’ Waiata written by Debbie Upham.

Video 7:

Play the Nutcracker suite using drumsticks and a chair. If you don’t have drumsticks try a wooden spoon or a stick from outside.

Video 8:

See if you and other members of your family can come up with a hand skit like this. It can be as simple or as complicated as you like. Maybe it could end up being a way for your family to greet each other or say goodbye to each other.

Living on a Motu called waiheke. We all need to learn this beautiful Waiata to celebrate this motu.

Kai challenge : Can you learn the karakia we use at Talking Tree Hill?
Nau mai e nga Hua. Try and use a Karakia before you eat every lunchtime this week!

Creative Jess gets her improv on today using props from around your home. Then the loose parts portraits are simply brilliant !

Inspirational Kate makes glorious mindful jars that help us with our busy swirly thoughts…perhaps you want to reach out of your bubble in the most beautiful way to friends and family? Kate will show you how !

This project will encourage mindfulness when we get carried away in thoughts.
You will need:

1 jar with lid
Oil
Water
Clean sand
Food colour or natural dye or pigment
Small shells, acorns or stones
Flower petals and leaves

Are you missing folks outside your bubble?
Create this bubble art card to send to them digitally.
You will need:
Papers
Glue
Sellotape
Food colour
Felts
Water
Dish washing liquid
Non plastic straws, (or roll up a piece of paper to make one)

Now remember do some, do all or do none of this! It could be inspiration for later or it could be a saviour for now. Everyday is a different day for you and your whānau there is no pressure to “complete or compete” just offerings to keep our children and planet healthy. Do what feels best.
